DaisyField Inc. is a boutique boarding and training facility located in Somerset, VA. Nearby are Montpelier,
the home of James Madison, Mr. Jefferson's University in Charlottesville, and the Keswick Hunt Club territory.
Our focus on classical training, in part thanks to Paul's apprenticeship with Karl Mikolka - an uber rider at the Spanish Riding School for fifteen years - allows us to prepare horse and rider for the discipline of their choosing - Hunter,
Jumper or Equitation. We are proud to say several of our clients have been with us for a decade or more. In a
few instances we instruct the second generation.
Paul and Wendy Mathews draw on over 25 years experience in the training and care of your equine partner. Paul oversees
the training of horses and riders through riding and instruction while Wendy manages the staff and care of the horses. They are hands on in every respect.
DaisyField is situated on 40 acres. We offer full care in two barns. Our main barn has eight stalls, feed room,
tack room and double wash stalls. Our small barn has five stalls.
The training arena has all weather sand footing and is equipped with schooling jumps. While most of our training
takes place in our arena we do take advantage of the opportunity to ride out in the countryside.
Paul and Wendy were honored as the 2007 Virginia Horse Shows Association (VHSA) horsepersons of the Year.
We are members of VHSA, USEF and USHJA. Paul sits on the USHJA Zone and Jumper Committees, Wendy is
a VHSA board member, and multiple Committee member. Both are members of the Advisory Boards of Lexington Spring
Premiere and Spring Encore and Upperville Colt and Horse Show.
        DaisyField welcomes the dedicated competitor.
In 2008, Wendy was awarded the Susan Hagan Memorial trophy acknowledging her service to VHSA and the Hunter/Jumper industry in Virginia.
